Thank you to everyone that participated in 2016 Polyculture Market Garden Study

It's the end of the second year of our Polyculture Market Garden Study marked by the end of season soil sampling, picking green tomatoes, mulching the crop residues and packing the tomato and bean supports away (leaving some for the birds to perch on over the coming winter). Once we get the soil samples back from the lab. and finish writing it up we'll be posting the results here on the blog.

If you would like to create a forest garden and gain some practical hands on experience join us this Summer. We'll be covering site surveying, landscape design software, installing access, beds, irrigation channels, planting tree, shrub, herb and ground layers and making a small wildlife pond. All in 3 days! And plenty of follow up material to take away with you to digest slowly.


We offer a diversity of plants and seeds for permaculture and forest gardens  including a range of fruit and nut cultivars. We Deliver all over Europe from Nov - March. Give a happy plant a happy home :)

Polyculture Project - Market Garden Study - Update 5

We said goodbye to Charlotte who has returned to Norway to make a start on her upcoming project. Thank you Charlotte, for all of your help, it was a pleasure to have you here:)  We're pleased to welcome Natasha from New Zealand to the team.  The Market Garden Polycultures  We are growing 3 annual polycultures this year. Polyculture Project - Growing Food and Biodiversity

Our mission is to provide nutritious affordable food while enhancing biodiversity. We aim to achieve this by developing model gardens and farms that: produce a diverse range of seasonal fruits and vegetables enhance biodiversity are low cost to establish and manage  can be replicated easily in any temperate climate. The last 3 years we have been gathering data to show the productivity of our models (see here) but currently lack a measure of biodiversity to support the casual observation of enhanced levels within the gardens. This year we are beginning to explore this with three entomological surveys scheduled for April, July and September as part of our polyculture market garden study .  We hope this will provide us with a glimpse into what's going on at that level.
